Cherryfield Drive

Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about the upcoming construction of Tudor Place, a new neighbourhood being delivered by Barratt and David Wilson Homes on Cherryfield Drive in Kirkby.

COMMUNITY NOTICE: Piling Works

What is happening?

Vibro improvement piling works have commenced at Tudor Place. Vibro piling is a ground improvement technique that involves specialist equipment vibrating aggregate into the ground to improve the ground properties for the new homes’ foundations to be constructed on.

What can residents expect?

·       A low, steady level of background noise, similar to general construction activity, rather than sudden loud impacts

·       Light, controlled ground vibrations, typically only noticeable close to the site and carefully monitored to remain within safe and regulated limits

·       Works carried out in short, progressive sections, meaning any activity near a particular area will be temporary

·       Equipment operated by experienced specialists using well-maintained machinery, designed to minimise disruption

Vibro piling is generally considered a less intrusive and more efficient method than traditional piling techniques and has been specifically chosen to help reduce disturbance wherever possible. The contractor will continuously monitor noise and vibration levels and will take all reasonable steps to keep any impact to a minimum.
